What is IBTM?
From 28th until 30th November, Barcelona will host the IBTM Congress, that the organization presents in its website as “The leading global event for the meetings, events and incentives industry. IBTM world delivers three inspirational days of business, networking and education to a community of international suppliers and buyers, helping drive their business into the future. Besides the official statement from the organization, is important to point out the economic benefits for the Tourism and MICE industry in Barcelona directly, and worldwide to the whole industry sector. But the networking opportunities for trade and investments, direct contact with several exhibitors and presentations, is what can make a difference for the IBTM and other Congresses. But why?

As more globalized as the world is becoming, and the less possible for a personal touch that a worldwide industry as Tourism and MICE sector in particular, makes it relevant when you can talk and discuss directly with the companies. That is why the diversity companies attending IBTM offers a great opportunity for trade and investment, but also and more important to talk directly either in the different stands and meetings.
Because, one the key points to succeed for any Congress is besides the quality of their product or service delivered (no doubt as the most important), is consequently how the communicate with their guests, customers or simply those people interested in them, because they are the ones who can expand and communicate their message more effectively through their personal and professional networks. As James Hughes described “The art of communication, is the art of leadership”. And the way we communicate, is the way to succeed.
What are my expectations in IBTM
I have registered to attend IBTM this week, and from my professional experience in the Tourism and MICE sector (I hold a MsC in International Hotel and Tourism Leadership from Norway), several years working in the Tourism and MICE sector (over 20), I will report in my personal blog about the IBTM. I would like to thank for accepting my registration to the IBTM organizers, and as stated above I expect to inform with a personal approach, presenting companies attending the IBTM with a personal approach. Is important to sell your services and products, but as James Hughes explained, is even more important to communicate it effectively.
I have already some meetings appointed to talk with companies attending the IBTM, but I am still interested and available to have some more meetings to talk with your company and inform about it. What I will bring is a personal approach, that can help to get your company message through in an international environment as Tourism and MICE sector represent, and to my personal and professional network.
